Minimum wage in Czechia

A statutory national minimum wage

Czechia has a national minimum wage set by Government regulation, stated both per month and per hour. There is no separate regional or sector minimum, though some skilled jobs have a guaranteed wage scale.

Headline figure (second half of 2026)

22,400 CZK per month

Eurostat's gross, full-time monthly figure; 13th and 14th-month payments are spread over twelve months.

Roughly US$1,028 a month for a full-time worker, at exchange rates of 2026-10-09. This is a rough comparison only and does not show buying power.

Check the date. Minimum wages change, in many countries every year. The figure above is the one in force at the date shown. Confirm the current amount with the official source below before you rely on it. This is general information, not legal or employment advice.

Who sets it

The Government sets the minimum wage by regulation, usually after discussion with the unions and employers.

How it changes

It is reviewed periodically and has usually been raised at the start of a year.

Who is covered, and who is treated differently

  • The same national rate applies across the country.
  • A system of guaranteed wage levels applies to jobs graded by difficulty.

What to watch for

  • Check the current Government regulation for the monthly and hourly figures.

Understand the legal system first

Czechia belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
