Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of tools.thelawtoknow.com (the “Service” or “Site”), operated by Tsvety, doing business as TheLawToKnow (“we,” “us,” or “the Company”). By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service Is

The Service provides educational legal-studies content — courses, interactive simulators, practice exams, reference tools, and related material. Everything on this Site is general legal information for educational purposes only. It is not legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship, and is not a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney about your own specific situation.

2. Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, make a purchase, or enter into a subscription on your own behalf. If you are between 16 and 17 years old, you may use and access content on the Service only if an account and access were purchased for you as a gift by someone at least 18 years old, and that adult remains responsible for the account. The Service is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 16.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information when registering, and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts are personal to you — see Section 8 (Acceptable Use) on sharing or reselling access.

4. Products, Pricing, and Payment

The Service offers two kinds of paid products:

  • One-time purchases — a single course, a bundle, or a standalone exam-prep product, purchased once for lifetime access to that specific product.
  • Subscriptions — the All-Access Membership, billed monthly or annually, which continues automatically until canceled.

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Displayed prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. We may change prices for future purchases or subscription renewals at any time; a price change never applies retroactively to a purchase or billing period you have already paid for.

5. Refunds and Cancellation

Because our products are digital and access is granted immediately upon purchase, our refund policy is as follows:

  • One-time purchases are final sale. Once you purchase a course, bundle, or standalone product, that purchase is not refundable, for any reason, regardless of how much of it you have used. You retain lifetime access to what you purchased.
  • Subscriptions (monthly or annual) can be canceled at any time from your account settings. Canceling stops future billing, but is not itself a refund: you keep full access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and the subscription simply does not renew after that. We do not provide partial or prorated refunds for the unused portion of a monthly or annual billing period, on either plan.

We reserve the right to make an exception at our sole discretion (for example, a genuine duplicate or erroneous charge), but doing so once does not create an ongoing obligation to do so again.

6. Referral / Student Ambassador Program

If you participate in our Student Ambassador referral program, your participation is additionally governed by that program’s own published rules (eligibility, how a referral is verified, and how rewards are earned and granted). We may modify or discontinue the referral program, or disqualify an account for fraudulent or abusive activity (including but not limited to fake accounts, self-referrals, or purchases made solely to trigger a reward and then refunded or reversed), at our sole discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — text, graphics, simulators, question banks, and other materials — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Purchasing access grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use that content for your own individual educational purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly share, or use the content for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share, sell, sublicense, or transfer your account or purchased access to anyone else;
  • Attempt to scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the Service;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s operation or security;
  • Create fraudulent accounts or transactions, including to manipulate the referral program described in Section 6; or
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is complete or current for your jurisdiction.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Bulgaria, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time; Section 5 governs what happens to any purchase or subscription already in effect.
