At a glance

  • 30 countries or territories have a figure.
  • The highest is Luxembourg at 100.8 (2024) and the lowest is Estonia at 81.2 (2024).
  • The middle value (the median) is 88.5.

What it counts

Women's average gross hourly earnings as a percentage of men's, calculated as 100 minus Eurostat's unadjusted gender pay gap, for firms with ten or more employees in industry, construction and services (public administration excluded), in the latest year each country reports (since 2019).

What it leaves out, and how far to trust a comparison

The gap is unadjusted: it does not compare people in the same job with the same experience, so it mixes differences in pay for equal work with differences in occupations, hours and career breaks. It is not a measure of discrimination, and it shows only paid employees in larger firms.
