At a glance
- 170 countries or territories have a figure.
- The highest is Kiribati at 62.9% (2025) and the lowest is Qatar at 1.4% (2025).
- The middle value (the median) is 19.2%.
What it counts
Firms whose top manager is a woman, as reported in the World Bank Enterprise Surveys.
What it leaves out, and how far to trust a comparison
The surveys cover mainly formal firms of five or more employees, in different years and with different samples, and they leave out the informal sector where many women work. The figure says nothing about the law on equal treatment in business.
