Data for 2022 to 2025. What it counts, how to cite it and the data
At a glance
- 183 countries or territories have a figure.
- The highest is Lebanon at 91.5 (2025) and the lowest is Antigua and Barbuda at 0.0 (2024).
- The middle value (the median) is 0.8.
What it counts
Refugees and people in refugee-like situations under the mandate of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, living in the country of asylum, divided by the population and multiplied by 1,000.
What it leaves out, and how far to trust a comparison
The figure counts people registered or estimated by UNHCR at the end of the year, and countries differ in who is registered and in whether people are recognised individually or as a group. Some countries host large numbers who are cared for by other agencies and not shown. It is not a measure of generosity.
