Divorces in the year compared with marriages in the same year. This is not the share of marriages that end in divorce.
In 1990 there were 0.6 divorces per 1,000 people in Greece. In 2024 the rate was 1.5, which is higher.

This line can jump in 2020 and 2021, when many weddings were postponed and the number of marriages fell sharply, even if divorces did not change much. It is a comparison of two yearly totals, not a forecast for any couple.
