The final course of the Legal Engineer Program is about making your work visible. In a young field with no standard job titles, evidence does what a title cannot: a reader can see what you did, how you tested it and what changed. This course teaches how to choose and shape a project, how to write it as a one-page case study with numbers and honest limits, how to present it in a portfolio, a walkthrough and a profile, how to find the people and organisations that need the work, and how to keep growing, all within the professional limits that apply to legal work. It comes with a Case Study Builder that prompts each section and checks your draft, and it ends with a capstone in which you assemble your portfolio and test it on a reader. It makes no promise of a job: it gives you a way of showing what you can do.

The Curriculum

01

What a portfolio is for: evidence, audience and the shape of the whole→

Evidence over claims, three audiences, the pieces you already have, choosing and ordering them, confidentiality and honesty. Practice: Claim or Evidence? and Who Is Reading?

02

Writing the case study: six sections, numbers and honest limits→

The six sections, results with numbers, honest limits, voice and length, attachments and common weaknesses. Practice: Fix the Sentence and the Case Study Builder.

03

Choosing and shaping your project: one story told through several pieces→

Size and scope, one end-to-end story, artifacts that show the work, material you may use, time-boxing and feedback. Practice: Right-Sized? and Plan the Story.

04

Presenting your work: formats, walkthroughs, visuals and questions→

Formats and layout, clear visuals, the five-minute walkthrough, speaking to lawyers and to business, and honest answers to hard questions. Practice: Which Format? and Handle the Question.

05

Your profile and positioning: describing yourself honestly and clearly→

Role titles, positioning by background, headline and summary, result-led bullets, skills with evidence and avoiding overclaiming. Practice: Rewrite the Bullet and What Does This Title Mean?

06

Finding and winning work: routes, conversations, interviews and professional limits→

Routes into the work, starting small, conversations, interviews and exercises, scope and fees, and the limits of what a non-lawyer may do. Practice: Choose the Route and Interview Moments.

07

Growing and staying current: the second project, the community and the long view→

A second project, a living portfolio, a learning plan, community and mentors, staying current and ethics. Practice: Plan the Next Year and What Does the Program Give You?

08

Capstone: Capstone: assemble your portfolio and test it on a reader→

Choose three pieces and a thread, write the lead case study, write your profile, prepare the walkthrough, apply the checklist and test it on a reader.

“You will leave with a small body of work that a stranger can read in minutes, believe and check.”
  • Seven modules and a capstone that take you from raw pieces of work to a portfolio, a profile and a rehearsed walkthrough.
  • Honest by design: labels for tests and exercises, limits in every case study and guidance on confidentiality and on what a non-lawyer may do.
  • A working tool you keep using: the Case Study Builder prompts each section, checks the draft and assembles a printable page.
  • The capstone ends with a test on a real reader, the step most people skip and the one that teaches most.

Module 1 is free to try. Sign in, pass each module quiz and the course average, and your Certificate of Completion is emailed to you automatically. This course teaches method and technique with invented people and figures; it is general education, not legal advice, and professional rules differ from country to country.

Common questions

Do I need to have finished the other courses?
It is designed as the last course of the Legal Engineer Program and builds on the pieces of work you made in them. You can take it with other work of your own if you prefer.
Will this get me a job?
No course can promise that. It teaches you how to show what you can do and how to find the people who need it. The result depends on you, the market and the place.
Can I use real work from my employer?
Only with written permission and with confidentiality protected. The course explains how to use invented, anonymised or permitted material.
Is this the Legal Engineer Program?
It is the sixth and final course. The whole program is sold as a bundle at a lower price than buying each course, and this course can also be bought on its own.
Is it legal or career advice?
No. It is general education. Rules about who may provide legal services and about confidentiality differ between countries: check those that apply to you.
How do I get the Certificate of Completion?
Sign in, pass each module quiz and keep a course average of at least 75. The certificate is then issued and emailed to you automatically. It shows that you completed the course, not a professional qualification.
