Module 7
Running the system: ownership, access, security, rollout and measurement
A template that works on the day it is released is only the beginning. Over the following years the law changes, the business changes, the people who built it move on and users find new ways to use it. A document automation system is a small piece of the organisation’s control environment: it produces documents that people sign and rely on. It must therefore be governed like one. This module covers the work that keeps a system safe and useful: who owns it and who may change it, who may use it and who must approve, how the data it holds is protected, how to choose a tool by criteria rather than by brand, how to roll it out and how to measure whether it is worth having.

See what is included in All-Access →General education on legal document automation, using invented organisations, documents and figures. It is not legal advice. Clauses and letters are illustrations of structure, not recommended wording: real documents must follow the law that applies and be checked by a lawyer.
