Capstone
Capstone: a plan for a new firm, with numbers, rules and a first ninety days
Lena Marsh is an invented lawyer with six years’ experience in the commercial and employment team of a mid-sized firm in a town of about 200,000 people. She wants to start her own practice for owner-managed businesses. She has asked you, a friend who has done this course, to help her to write a plan that she could take to her bank, to her regulator and to her family. Your task is to turn her facts into a plan that survives the cautious scenario, and to be honest about what it does not yet show. The regulatory part depends on the place where she would practise, so you will choose a jurisdiction (hers or yours) and list what has to be found out, rather than invent rules.
