Module 2
How legal work is organised: matters, tasks, documents, decisions and where time goes
Before you can improve legal work you have to see it clearly, and most people who do legal work have never described it as a system. They know what they are doing but not how it flows. This module gives you a vocabulary for that: the building blocks of a matter, the kinds of legal work and how well each suits redesign, how firms and departments are organised and paid, and the usual places where time and quality leak away. The skill here is observation: seeing the work as it is, not as it is supposed to be.
