What can you bring through customs in Ukraine?
Ukraine has a personal allowance for goods and requires cash above a set amount to be declared. Cultural valuables cannot be taken out without permission.

Personal allowance for goods
Travellers have an allowance for goods for personal use and gifts. Goods above it, and goods for sale, are charged duty and tax.
Alcohol and tobacco
Adults have allowances for alcohol and tobacco for personal use.
Food, plants and animals
Food, plants and animals are controlled for health reasons and may need certificates or be refused.
Cash and valuables
Cash above a set amount must be declared on entry and exit.
Medicines and banned items
Bring medicines in original packaging with a prescription. Illegal drugs, weapons and counterfeit goods are banned, and cultural valuables need an export permit.
What to watch for
- Border rules can change at short notice because of the security situation, so check the State Customs Service before travelling.
