Law is a demanding profession, and strain is part of the job. What is not inevitable is being worn down by it. This course gives you a clear account of what stress is and where it comes from in legal work, how to spot your own early signals, tools that work in a minute, ways to take back some control of workload and boundaries, how to handle perfectionism and mistakes, what burnout is and what helps, and the daily habits and supports that keep a career sustainable. It is general education and not medical advice, and it tells you plainly when to seek professional help.
The Curriculum
Stress and the legal job: why the work is demanding and what is in your hands→
What stress is, why law is a high-load job, and what is in your hands. Practice: Where the Load Comes From and Mine or Theirs.
Reading your own signals: body, mind, behaviour and the people around you→

A sustainable career: sleep, recovery, support and looking after others→
Sleep, recovery, support, exposure to distressing material and what a supervisor can do. Practice: Personal Plan and What Not to Say.
Capstone: Capstone: the bad week, and your own plan→
A difficult week in six decisions, and a one-page plan of your own.
What It Covers
“You will not be told to be tougher. You will be shown how to notice sooner, ask earlier and recover properly.”
- Seven modules and a capstone that follow strain from the first signals to a sustainable plan, in the order you would meet it.
- Practical tools you can use in a minute, and a one-page personal plan you can keep, rather than general advice to relax.
- Reflective profiles and practice labs (a stress signals profile, a burnout check, reframing, a workload message to a partner, a personal plan), clear that none is a diagnosis.
- Honest about the limits: where the cause is how work is organised, the course says so, and for leaders it covers what a supervisor can do.

Common questions
- Is this medical or psychological advice?
- No. It is general education. It cannot diagnose or treat anything. If you are struggling, a doctor, counsellor or employee assistance service can help, and if you are ever in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
- Is the burnout check a test?
- No. It is a reflection tool and not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional can assess burnout, anxiety or depression, and the course says so wherever it matters.
- Is it only for people who are already stressed?
- No. It is most useful before things are bad. The early signals and habits in the first modules are for everyone, and the later modules cover burnout and what a supervisor can do.
- Does it say the problem is the individual?
- No. A lot of strain comes from how work is organised, and the course separates what is yours to change, what you can influence and what the organisation must address.
- How do I get the Certificate of Completion?
- Sign in, pass each module quiz and keep a course average of at least 75. The certificate is then issued and emailed to you automatically.
- Is any of it legal advice?
- No. The people and situations are invented for teaching, and this is general education, not legal, medical or psychological advice.
